Virginia State Fair

If you are looking for a cultural experience find out when your state fair is. It is a melting pot of people and activities. I even saw a demolition derby! To win the derby the drivers had to make their opponents' cars stop running. I did not even know that was a legal sport!

Some things at the fair did make me sad. There was a booth that you could pay 50 cents to see the world's smallest woman. I did not pay to see her, but my friends did. They said it was just a dwarf woman sitting in a little box painted to look like a house. This exploitation made me feel uneasy. I also saw a chimpanzee dressed like a little boy. This whole experience made me wonder what state fairs were like in the past. Were state fairs really they place that made freak shows famous or was it the circus? Where is the line here?

ALABAMA IS RANKED #2!

I went to the University of Alabama for my Undergraduate career. During my stay at Alabama we were not the best football team in the SEC. Finally along game Nick Saban. He is a bowl winning superstar coach. Last year was his first year as our coach. We did not win as many games as we hoped for, but we did look like a progressive team.

This year is our year to shine. We finally have beat Georgia after many years of loosing to them. Last night we beat them 41 to 30. It was incredible. My room mate went to UGA during her undergraduate career. They beat us last year. This year was payback!

"Alabama hasn't been ranked this high by the AP since it was No. 2 for the first eight polls of the 1993 season, coming off a national championship the previous year." Associated Press Quote

ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL TIDEEE!!! GET READY LSU!

Victory song gives me chills everytime: Hey Bulldogs. Hey Bulldogs. We just beat the hell out of you. Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer give them hell Alabama!

Build a chair- out of grass

I just saw this the other day on Kanye West's blog. This lawnmower (MUWI) cuts grass into little disks or balls that you can then built something with. Maybe this is what we will have to use when all of the trees get get cut own and we can't make furniture with wood. This is also seen now in some cars that can run on gas full of vegetable oil. I hope to own this awesome invention one day so that I am prepared when some of our natural resources run out.

Crazy hat day is not just for summer camp anymore

At the national conventions I notice a lot of silly hats. It made me think about the hat and its function. Hats do not only serve the purpose of shading your face. It shouts who you are as a person. It's the next best option for not writing on your forehead with a sharpie. Every hat tells a story. It can show where someone is from, what team they root for, what party
they vote for, what brand they like, or even if your a newly proud grandpa. A hat is truly a real conversation starter. This allows a person to know right off the hat if someone is similar to them. This medium is interesting, and I wonder what else you could do with a hat.
